I don't know if everone has heard of or seen the show "The Swan". This show bothers me for so many reasons. First of all they refer to the women they are completley making over as "ugly ducklings". First off, aren't we trying to teach women that no matter what you look like you're beautiful? And that you don't need to look like the women in magazines to be deemed as beautiful? The women in this show aren't the most beautiful women in the world, they arent perfect..theres no such thing. They take these ugly ducklings and give them mass surgery to make them "beautiful". Then they choose the prettiest ones and put them in a beauty pagent. So basically you make over these women who think they are ugly, make them beautiful and then tell them they arent pretty enough to be in the pagent? Doesnt that just contradict everything you just did? Either way I think the show is stupid. You are born the way you are born, some people get a shitter deal than others but you deal with it. I think I am far from beautiful, but I do know that on the inside I am. That gives me hope. Some of the most beautiful people in the world are horrible and ugly on the inside, and some of the ugliest people in the world have hearts of gold, to me that makes someone beautiful. Looks are only skin deep..and its just skin.
